Welcome Home

 

The girls really started getting the hang of eating earlier this week. They were doing so well with the bottles and nursing that the doctor ordered their feeding tubes removed on Wednesday and said they could go home on Friday if they kept gaining weight. So, at 6 lbs, 6 oz and 5 lbs, 6 oz, they were discharged from the hospital today.

As of today, Brooke is now 5 lbs, 11 oz and Eve is 4 lbs, 11 oz. Grow girls, grow!  The doctors say that they will probably need to stay in the N.I.C.U. for another week or two while they learn to nurse and take bottles better. 

Gigi left for home today after spending the past six weeks helping our family. Thank you for everything. We will miss you.

Gigi and I took Reed to the zoo for the morning. He loved all the animals. Akeem the giraffe was his favorite.

We spent the weekend car shopping. I got my reliable commuter car and Scott got his dad van. Our Subaru Forester is for sale - spread the word. 

We made sure all three car seats fit in the back seat

 

Scott's looking forward to adding the next 100,000 miles

The girls are now able to maintain their own body temperature, so they can now be in a regular crib together.
